Coulsdon Bridal Alterations | Morilee Wedding Dress Transformation with Hand-Sewn Couture Detailing
A bride from Coulsdon came to my private bridal alterations studio in Sutton, Surrey, looking for a specialist to transform her Morilee wedding dress into a gown that felt truly personal and unique.
The original gown already had a beautiful princess silhouette, with a full flowing skirt and elegant structure, but the bride wanted to elevate the design by creating a more luxurious off-shoulder look with additional detail and support.

Transforming a Morilee Wedding Dress with Couture Embellishment
The main focus of this bridal transformation was the bodice and neckline.
The original strapless sweetheart design was redesigned by introducing a romantic off-shoulder style using a beautiful hand-made beaded bridal trim sourced specifically for the project.
The intricate trim featured delicate crystal, bead and pearl detailing, creating a luxurious finish that complemented the sparkle already present throughout the gown.
To achieve the desired couture effect, I carefully layered and shaped four individual layers of trim, each one meticulously hand-sewn into position.
The placement was carefully considered so the new neckline followed the bride’s shape beautifully, creating a seamless transition into the embellished bodice below.
The result was a completely transformed neckline with the appearance of a bespoke couture wedding dress.
Expert Bridal Fitting and Structural Alterations
Alongside the aesthetic transformation, the gown also required specialist fitting adjustments to ensure the bride felt comfortable and confident on her wedding day.
The alterations included:
- Custom bust support added to enhance comfort, security and structure
