Martina Liana Luxe & Enzoani Bridal Alterations– Couture Fitting for Two Completely Different Wedding Looks

Some brides search for one perfect wedding dress. Others create two entirely different bridal looks for completely different moments of the wedding day. This Martina Liana Luxe & Enzoani bridal alterations journey began after a bride lost confidence in her original Enzoani wedding dress following previous alterations that simply did not feel right. Although the original gown was beautiful, the fit no longer felt balanced or flattering, leaving the bride disconnected from the dress she had originally loved.
Wanting a completely different second bridal look, she travelled to Scotland to purchase a dramatic Martina Liana Luxe wedding gown — a couture textured design only available through a boutique located several hours away. The gown itself was approximately 2–3 sizes too large and required extensive bridal restructuring throughout the bodice, illusion sleeves and heavily layered skirt.
After finding my private Sutton Surrey bridal studio through a personal recommendation, the bride initially came to me for alterations on the Martina Liana Luxe gown before later also asking me to rescue and correct the fit of her original Enzoani wedding dress.
Although both dresses belonged to the same bride, the alteration process for each gown required two completely different couture fitting approaches.

Corrective Enzoani Bridal Alterations – Restoring the Original Silhouette

The original Enzoani wedding dress featured a sleek fitted silhouette with delicate lace detailing, fine straps and a low back requiring precision contouring throughout the body of the gown.
Minimalist fitted wedding dresses can often be deceptively difficult to alter correctly. Without heavy layering or dramatic embellishment to disguise construction work, every seam, contour and transition becomes visible. When the balance of the silhouette is even slightly disrupted, brides often feel that something simply “doesn’t sit right” even if they cannot immediately explain why.

The corrective bridal alterations focused on:
- restoring balance throughout the silhouette
- refining the fit through the waist and hips
- correcting contouring through the body
- maintaining clean lace flow
- improving support while preserving comfort and movement
- refining the overall proportion of the gown
The aim was not to completely change the original Enzoani design, but to restore the elegance and confidence the bride initially felt when first choosing the dress.
Why Two Completely Different Wedding Dresses Required Two Completely Different Alteration Approaches

One of the most interesting aspects of this bridal journey was how differently both gowns needed to be approached despite belonging to the same bride.
The Enzoani gown relied on restraint, precision and invisible contouring.
The Martina Liana Luxe gown required a far more architectural couture approach involving structural balancing, weight distribution and proportion control throughout the heavily textured skirt and illusion bodice.
Correct bridal alterations are never simply about making a dress smaller. Every designer gown behaves differently depending on its internal construction, fabric weight, silhouette and support structure.
A fitted low back gown and a dramatic couture layered gown require entirely different technical approaches to achieve the correct final result.
Martina Liana Luxe Bridal Alterations – Couture Volume, Structure & Balance
The second gown created a completely different bridal moment.

This Martina Liana Luxe wedding dress featured illusion sleeves, intricate detailing and a dramatic textured couture skirt designed to create movement and visual impact throughout the evening celebration.
Because the gown was approximately 2–3 sizes too large, extensive bridal restructuring was required throughout the bodice and upper body to rebalance the silhouette correctly while preserving the integrity of the original design.

The alterations included:
- couture bodice contouring
- balancing the illusion sleeve structure
- refining support throughout the upper body
- reshaping proportion through the textured skirt
- improving movement and balance throughout the gown
- redistributing weight through the train and layered construction
Unlike minimalist gowns where every seam becomes exposed, heavily layered couture dresses must still maintain structure underneath the volume to prevent the silhouette from collapsing or feeling visually unbalanced when worn.
Martina Liana Luxe & Enzoani Bridal Alterations | From Falling Out of Love With One Dress to Loving Both

One of the most rewarding parts of this bridal journey was seeing the bride reconnect emotionally with both dresses by the end of the fitting process.
The original Enzoani gown once again felt elegant, sculpted and balanced.
The Martina Liana Luxe gown became the dramatic couture bridal look she had imagined when travelling to Scotland to purchase it.
Together, both dresses created two completely different wedding day looks while still feeling cohesive throughout the entire celebration.
