My lovely bride travelled from Clapham to my Sutton bridal atelier looking for a flawless fit while preserving the effortless elegance that has made the Grace Loves Lace Aura one of the brand’s most recognisable designs. Together, we focused on refining the gown without changing its character, ensuring it looked and felt as though it had been made exclusively for her.

For this Grace Loves Lace Aura wedding dress I completed:
- Lifted both shoulder straps to perfect the neckline and improve the overall fit.
- Added professionally integrated bust cups for discreet support and confidence throughout the day.
- Shortened the hem to the precise bridal length, allowing the dress to skim the floor beautifully.
- Created a discreet three-point American bustle so the train could be elegantly secured for the evening reception.
Each alteration was carried out with great care to preserve the fluid drape and luxurious movement that make this gown so effortlessly sophisticated.

One of the greatest challenges with contemporary bridal gowns is making alterations completely invisible.
The Grace Loves Lace Aura is celebrated for its softly draped cowl neckline, clean silhouette and luxurious stretch fabric. Every adjustment had to enhance the fit while maintaining the relaxed elegance of the original design.
Lifting the shoulder straps refined the neckline and balanced the proportions of the bodice beautifully, while the hidden bust cups provided additional support without altering the natural softness of the gown.
The hem was carefully shortened so the bride could move comfortably while allowing the dress to retain its graceful movement with every step.
Clapham Bridal Alterations | A Three-Point American Bustle
The flowing train was finished with a carefully engineered three-point American bustle, allowing it to be lifted neatly after the ceremony.
The bustle was positioned to maintain the clean lines of the dress while giving my bride complete freedom to enjoy her reception, dance comfortably and move with confidence throughout the evening.
When released, the train flowed exactly as Grace Loves Lace intended. Once bustled, it remained elegant, balanced and discreet.
Professionally Steam Pressed Before Collection
Every bridal gown leaving my atelier receives a meticulous professional steam press before collection.
This final stage removes every crease from both the dress and veil, allowing the fabric to fall naturally and ensuring the gown is presented at its absolute best for the wedding day.
There is something incredibly satisfying about seeing a beautifully simple dress hanging perfectly, ready for one of the most important days of someone’s life.
