This breathtaking Martina Liana Luxe LE 1135 was already an exceptional design, featuring dramatic three-dimensional floral lace appliqués, a sculpted trumpet silhouette and detachable billowing illusion sleeves. Originally created for the bride who loves high fashion, the gown combines a structured bodice with cascading floral lace over a fitted silhouette. When my lovely bride arrived at my Sutton bridal studio, the dress needed more than a standard fitting. It needed a Bridal Alterations Martina Liana Expert to make it fit her like a glove. Complete shortening to the perfect bridal length
Reduced the gown by approximately one full dress size
Built a completely hidden internal corset
Added additional waist support for long-lasting comfort
Under-bust contouring
Over-bust contouring
Sculpted the waist for a beautifully defined silhouette
Created three American bustles for the evening reception
Couture steam pressing before collection

Every alteration was carefully planned so the original design lines remained untouched while dramatically improving the fit.

One of the biggest transformations on this gown was the addition of a hidden internal corset.

Luxury gowns often rely on the outer bodice alone for support, but after alterations this can place unnecessary strain on the zip and fabric throughout the wedding day.

By constructing a completely concealed internal corset, the support comes from inside the dress rather than the outer shell.

This allows the bride to move naturally, dance comfortably and enjoy her day knowing the dress remains securely positioned exactly where it should.

Most importantly, it removes pressure from the delicate couture fabrics while creating an incredibly secure fit.

One of the biggest misconceptions about bridal alterations is that achieving a perfect fit simply means making the dress smaller.

In reality, couture fitting is about sculpting the entire silhouette.

On this Martina Liana Luxe gown I carefully contoured both beneath and above the bust to create smooth transitions through the bodice. The waist was then refined further with additional shaping to enhance the bride’s natural proportions while maintaining complete comfort. It was taken in 3 inches all along back zip as the bride had a sample that was bigger than her own measurements.

The result was a gown that hugged every curve beautifully without feeling restrictive.

Instead of looking altered, it looked as though it had always been made exclusively for her.

Three American Bustles

The dramatic trumpet skirt and sweeping train are among the signature features of the LE1135.

For the evening celebrations I created three American bustles, allowing the train to be lifted neatly while preserving the elegant shape of the gown.

The bustle distributes the weight evenly across the back of the dress, making it comfortable for dancing while maintaining the luxurious flow of the skirt.

Once fastened, the gown transformed effortlessly from dramatic ceremony elegance into a practical reception dress without compromising its couture appearance.

The Final Result

The bodice sits beautifully without collapsing or gaping.
