Expert Khya Bridal Alterations by a Couture-Trained Bridal Specialist
Finding the perfect wedding dress is only the beginning. Khya bridal alterations require precision, experience and an understanding of modern couture construction. When Jasmine travelled from Fulham Broadway to my private bridal alterations studio in Sutton, Surrey, she entrusted me with altering her sample Duke by Khya Studios wedding dress for her dream destination wedding in Santorini, Greece.
Like many modern designer gowns, her Khya dress needed specialist alterations to complement her figure while preserving its contemporary silhouette. Before the alterations could even begin, however, another challenge needed solving.
Restoring a Sample Khya Wedding Dress
Jasmine’s wedding dress was a boutique sample that had naturally been tried on many times.
The back of the gown had noticeable marks. The bridal boutique had already cleaned the dress and Jasmine had paid for this service, but she had been told that nothing more could be done.
When I carefully examined the gown during her consultation, I wasn’t convinced we had reached the end of the road.
Rather than beginning the alterations immediately, I recommended a trusted specialist dry cleaner that I have worked with for many years. Experience has taught me that knowing when to seek the expertise of another specialist can make all the difference.
The result exceeded both of our expectations.
The marks disappeared completely.
Jasmine was absolutely delighted to see her beautiful Khya gown restored before the fitting process even began.
Only then did I start the couture alterations.
Couture Khya Bridal Alterations
Once the gown had been professionally restored, I carefully reshaped it to fit Jasmine perfectly.
The alterations included:
- Taking in the bodice for a sculpted couture fit
- Hidden internal bust support for confidence and comfort
- Waist contouring
- Hip contouring
- Hem shortened to the correct length
- Professional bustle added for the evening celebrations
- Final couture steam pressing before collection
Every alteration was completed with the aim of preserving the clean architectural lines that make Khya Studios wedding dresses so distinctive while ensuring Jasmine felt completely secure throughout her wedding day.

Every wedding gown is professionally steam pressed before collection. But for a destination wedding I steam press and pack for my bride. For destination weddings this final preparation is particularly important, ensuring the gown leaves my studio looking immaculate and ready to be carefully packed for travel.
