Specialist WED2B Bridal Alterations with Corset Support, Bust Contouring & Bustle Creation
One of the greatest compliments I can receive as a bridal alterations specialist is when a bride recommends me to her family. After carrying out wedding dress alterations for Megan, I was later delighted when her sister Sarah entrusted me with her own WED2B Bridal Alterations family ahead of her wedding day.
Having seen the results achieved for Megan’s gown, Sarah came to me for specialist alterations to ensure her WED2B wedding dress provided the fit, support and comfort she needed. Although Sarah loved her WED2B wedding dress, the internal structure required modification to provide the level of support she wanted throughout her wedding day.
The most significant alteration involved extending the gown’s internal corset structure to improve both comfort and stability. Internal corsetry is often one of the most important elements of bridal alterations, particularly for strapless and off-the-shoulder gowns where much of the gown’s support must come from the internal construction rather than the neckline itself.
Additional bust support was incorporated into the gown to enhance shape, improve security and ensure the dress remained comfortably in place throughout the celebrations.
The goal was to create a beautifully balanced silhouette while preserving the original design of the gown.
Bustle Creation for the Evening Reception
Like many wedding dresses with a train, Sarah’s gown also required a bustle to allow the train to be lifted after the ceremony.
A carefully positioned bustle was added to ensure the train could be secured neatly for the evening reception while maintaining the elegant shape of the gown. A well-designed bustle allows brides to move comfortably, dance freely and enjoy the reception without worrying about managing a long train.
Although often overlooked, bustle creation is an important part of bridal alterations and requires careful consideration of the gown’s weight, fabric and overall balance.

In addition to Sarah’s bridal alterations, I was also entrusted with preparing the bridal party garments before the wedding.
Professional steam pressing was carried out on:

Professional steaming is often the final stage before a wedding. Even beautifully altered garments can develop creases during transport and storage, and careful steam pressing ensures every dress looks its absolute best in wedding photographs.
