Wona Concept & Eva Lendel Bridal Alterations – Couture Bridal Reconstruction for a Love Bridal Bride from Colindale

When this bride travelled from Colindale / Edgware in Greater London to my private Sutton Surrey studio after being recommended through Love Bridal, she brought two designer wedding dresses requiring extensive Wona Concept & Eva Lendel bridal alterations. With only two weeks before her destination wedding flight to Kosovo, both gowns underwent major couture restructuring including multi-size reduction, cup reconstruction, silhouette contouring, bustle creation and intricate embroidered alteration work within a tight turnaround.
The first gown was a dramatic satin Wona Concept ballgown designed for the evening celebration. The second was a heavily embellished Eva Lendel fitted gown featuring intricate embroidery, sheer detailing and structured corsetry.
Both dresses required extensive multi-size bridal alterations including complete cup reshaping, internal contouring, bustle construction and advanced restructuring work to rebalance the gowns proportionally to the bride’s frame.

The Eva Lendel dress in particular required major embroidered reconstruction due to the scale of the size reduction and the complexity of the original bodice construction.

Eva Lendel Bridal Alterations – Couture Reshaping, Cup Reconstruction & Sculpted Trumpet Silhouette

The Eva Lendel gown required extensive couture bridal reconstruction throughout the bodice, hips and silhouette to transform the original fit into a far more sculpted and body-contoured shape.
The dress underwent major multi-size reduction alongside complete cup reshaping and internal restructuring to rebalance the proportions of the gown correctly against the bride’s frame. Due to the heavily embellished construction, sections of embroidery and lace detailing had to be carefully lifted, repositioned and hand-finished throughout the alteration process.
Beyond the bodice reconstruction, the original silhouette was also extensively reshaped from a softer, looser cut into a far more sculpted mermaid silhouette, creating a closer couture fit through the hips and upper skirt while still maintaining balance, elegance and movement throughout the gown.

Additional internal support and contouring were added throughout the bodice to stabilise the neckline and create a cleaner, more elongated silhouette for the bride’s destination wedding in Kosovo.
Completed within an exceptionally short couture turnaround of just a few weeks, the finished gown photographed beautifully with a refined editorial silhouette while preserving the dramatic elegance of the original Eva Lendel design.

Internal Couture Work – Cup Reduction & Structural Reshaping
Although the finished photographs appear effortless, the internal reconstruction work required to achieve the final fit was extensive.

The original cup dimensions had to be reduced significantly before the embroidery and lace could be rebuilt proportionally over the newly shaped structure. This type of alteration involves far more than simply “taking in” a gown — the internal engineering of the dress must be completely rebalanced so the neckline, bust curve and torso proportions continue to sit naturally against the bride’s body.
This type of couture bridal reconstruction is especially important on heavily embellished designer gowns where incorrect alterations can distort the embroidery placement and compromise the overall silhouette.
Wona Concept Bridal Alterations – Structured Satin Ballgown Reshaping
The second gown — a dramatic satin Wona Concept ballgown — required a very different approach.

The bodice underwent extensive reshaping through the bust and waist to create a more sculpted and supportive fit while preserving the clean architectural lines of the satin design.
The internal cups were also reduced and restructured to better suit the bride’s proportions and improve stability throughout the reception.
A bustle was constructed for the train to allow easier movement during the evening celebration while still preserving the dramatic silhouette of the skirt.
The finished result created a regal couture silhouette that photographed beautifully under reception lighting while still moving effortlessly during the couple’s entrance and dancing.

Destination Wedding Bridal Alterations with a Couture Turnaround
With the wedding taking place in Kosovo, both designer gowns had to undergo extensive couture bridal alterations within an exceptionally short timeframe of approximately two to three weeks before travel.
Despite the complexity of the work involved — including major cup reduction, embroidered lace reconstruction, structural contouring, bustle creation and significant multi-size reshaping — both gowns were fully completed within the tight couture fitting schedule required for the destination wedding preparations.
The bride later requested an even closer sculpted fit silhouette for her final wedding styling abroad, highlighting just how body-contoured and precision-fitted these gowns ultimately became.
Bridal Alterations for Love Bridal Brides
Having previously worked closely with Love Bridal brides for many years, many continue travelling from across Greater London and Surrey to my Sutton studio for advanced bridal alterations involving structural reshaping, couture contouring and complex sample-size reductions.
This bridal journey perfectly demonstrates the difference between standard alterations and true couture reconstruction work — where the internal architecture of the gown is rebuilt carefully to preserve proportion, support and elegance simultaneously.
