Couture Wedding Dress Transformation Completed in Under 24 Hours
Some bridal transformations stay with you long after the wedding day, and Sarah’s was one of them.
Sarah contacted me after previous alterations on her Ronald Joyce wedding dress had unfortunately failed to properly correct the fit and structure of the gown itself. Although adjustments had already been attempted elsewhere, the focus had largely been placed on the outer belt detail rather than the actual shaping and balance of the dress.
Having been referred to me by Outlet by Aurora, Sarah travelled from Epsom to my Sutton Surrey studio needing urgent expert bridal alterations less than 24 hours before her wedding day.
I completely corrected the fit of the gown, refined the structure of the satin silhouette and ensured the dress was professionally steam pressed and beautifully prepared ready for the wedding.
Correcting the Structure of the Gown
Structured satin wedding dresses require precision. The internal shaping of the bodice determines how the entire silhouette sits, moves and photographs.
In Sarah’s case, the original alterations had not properly addressed the structure of the gown itself. The fit needed correcting through the body of the dress so the silhouette would sit elegantly and securely while maintaining the dramatic proportions of the satin skirt.

Bridal alterations completed under extreme time pressure require both technical precision and calmness. Alongside correcting the fit of the gown itself, I also ensured every layer of the dress was professionally finished and steam pressed so Sarah could collect it ready to wear with confidence.
Seeing the final wedding photographs afterwards was incredibly special. The structure of the satin, dramatic train and cathedral veil photographed with a truly couture feel throughout the day.
