Some brides choose one dress for the entire day. Others create completely different bridal looks for different moments of the celebration. For this Made With Love bridal alterations project, the bride wanted two distinct looks while still maintaining a cohesive modern aesthetic throughout the wedding day.
The ceremony gown featured elegant minimalist lines, a dramatic low back and a beautifully sculpted silhouette. Alterations focused on refining the fit through the body, lifting the neckline for improved balance and support, and adding a bustle to allow the gown to move comfortably throughout the celebrations.
The second bridal look transformed the mood entirely. A shorter reception dress was customised with bespoke rhinestone straps, creating a glamorous evening look while still retaining the clean contemporary aesthetic carried throughout the wedding
Made With Love Bridal Alterations | Refining The Ceremony Gown
The ceremony gown was carefully reshaped through the body and taken in by approximately two dress sizes to create a cleaner more sculpted silhouette while preserving the fluid movement of the fabric.
The neckline was also lifted slightly to improve proportion and support through the bodice while maintaining the elegant minimalist style that makes Made With Love gowns so striking.
Although these changes can appear subtle visually, precision fitting through the waist, hips and neckline completely transforms how a gown photographs and moves throughout the wedding day.
Made With Love Bridal Alterations | Bustle Work Designed For Movement
A bustle was added to allow the bride to move comfortably between the ceremony, drinks reception and evening celebrations while preserving the clean silhouette of the gown when worn down.
Minimalist dresses often require particularly careful bustle placement because every line remains visible. The aim is always to create functionality without disrupting the elegant simplicity of the original design.
A Completely Different Evening Look
The second bridal look brought an entirely different energy to the wedding styling.
The shorter reception dress was customised with bespoke rhinestone straps, adding detail and sparkle while still keeping the look refined and fashion-led rather than overly embellished.
The feather trim created movement and texture for the evening celebrations while the rhinestone straps elevated the gown into something unmistakably bridal.

Back detailing and proportion become especially important on minimalist silhouettes where every seam and line remains visible.
