This beautiful Blue By Enzoani wedding dress arrived at my Sutton Surrey bridal alterations studio after the bride was recommended to me by the team at Laura May Bridal in Cardiff.
The bride travelled from Hammersmith, London, for specialist bridal alterations to her satin Blue By Enzoani gown. While the dress already had a striking silhouette, she wanted significant changes to the neckline together with expert fitting and structural support to create a look that felt uniquely hers.
Projects such as this demonstrate how couture bridal alterations can completely transform a gown while preserving the integrity of the original design.
Transforming The Original Blue By Enzoani Neckline
The original Blue By Enzoani gown featured a dramatic off-the-shoulder neckline with statement satin sleeves.
Although beautiful, the bride wanted a cleaner and more contemporary silhouette.
The entire neckline was redesigned and reshaped to create a softer draped satin effect across the bust. This required careful reconstruction of the bodice to ensure the new neckline looked intentional and balanced rather than altered.
Changing the neckline of a structured satin wedding dress is far more complex than simply adjusting the top edge. The proportions of the bodice, support structure and overall balance of the gown must all work together.
The result was a completely different look that complemented the bride beautifully while retaining the luxurious elegance of the original Blue By Enzoani design.

Alongside the neckline transformation, the gown required extensive fitting work.
The dress was taken in by approximately one size to create a more sculpted silhouette through the bust, waist and hips.
A hidden internal corset was added to provide support, security and comfort throughout the wedding day. Internal corsetry is one of the most valuable alterations for structured satin gowns as it allows the dress to stay securely in place without relying solely on the outer fabric.
The bride’s figure was carefully contoured to create a smooth, elegant line while maintaining comfort and freedom of movement.

The dramatic satin skirt required specialist hemming, including adjustment of the crinoline horsehair edging to preserve the shape and movement of the gown.
A one-point American bustle was also added, allowing the train to be lifted neatly for the evening celebrations.
Bustles are often overlooked, yet they play an important role in ensuring a bride can comfortably enjoy her wedding day after the ceremony while protecting the train from damage.
From Fitting Room To Wedding Day
One of the most rewarding aspects of bridal alterations is seeing the transformation from fitting room photographs to wedding day images.
The final wedding photographs beautifully showcase the refined neckline, sculpted fit and elegant silhouette achieved through the alteration process.
