Atelier Journal

The Atelier Journal

A curated collection of bridal transformations, couture alterations, and behind-the-scenes craftsmanship. Designed and altered by a specialist bridal seamstress, Zen based in Sutton, serving brides across South London and Surrey.

Each piece reflects the precision, artistry and attention to detail behind every gown.

Bespoke Silk Dress Recreation

A recent bespoke silk dress, inspired by an Alberta Ferretti design, was meticulously recreated in my London studio for a client seeking something truly unique.

Working directly from the original garment, the pattern was extracted entirely through measurement, allowing for precise reconstruction without the need for fittings or toiles. The final piece was crafted from multiple silk panels, each hand-finished to achieve a fluid, sculpted silhouette.

This project reflects the level of craftsmanship and detail I bring to every bespoke commission.
